Dr. Peter Ballerstedt – May 2012

Dr. Peter Ballerstedt earned his bachelors degree at the University of Kentucky and his graduate degree at Oregon State University.  He has an extensive background in forage production, utilization, and forage-based livestock production systems. He was the forage extension specialist at Oregon State University from 1986 until 1992. His personal experience has led him to re-examine human diet and health. What he's learned doesn’t agree with the advice we’ve been given for the past several decades. This new understanding, combined with his forage background, has given him an interest in local, sustainable animal production systems specifically in grassfed beef production. He is a happily married guy who’s tryin' to follow Jesus of Nazareth one day at a time (let the reader understand). He plays hammered dulcimer; enjoys Celtic music, culture & history; does live sound; all-around good cookin'; creates truly awesome BBQ.

Dr. Ballerstedt can be reached at his blog http://grassbasedhealth.blogspot.com/ if you have further questions.

In this 16 minute video, Dr. Ballerstedt talks about what we have been told is a healthy diet based on low fat and what is a healthy diet based on animal proteins, specifically diets based on grassfed beef and naturally raised animal proteins.  This video we offer for free, for further information and to listen to Dr. Ballerstedt talk about the scientific facts about diet, join the Network today and learn more about how to improve your health by eating more grassfed beef.
